Acreage:	Approximately 1300 acres of hunting land. ~400 acres hardwoods, ~400 acres pine, ~500 acre farmland.
Location:	15 minutes from Lake Gaston, Carolina Crossroads, Roanoke River
Hunting:	Deer, turkey, dove, small game, and predators. (Bird pens and dog guide service available for Quail at additional cost)
Activities:	Dove Hunts, Rabbit Hunts, Bird Hunts, and Social events/cookouts
Fishing:	10 acre stocked farm pond

Bear Swamp Hunt Club is nestled in a farming community in Halifax County, North Carolina. The Bear Swamp Hunting Club is a hunting preserve that is as diverse as you will find. It is conveniently located minutes from Interstate 95 and is also in close proximity to Interstate 85. The hunting area is comprised of tall pines, swampy bottom lands and young pine thickets adjoining fields of green grasses. Hardwood areas also adjoin as the fields of pines meet the 10 acre pond with wide overlooks for great field of vision. Sturdy, comfortable hunting stands are strategically placed throughout these areas as well as along special "shooting lanes" (20 foot wide, cleared path) which will provide wonderful shooting opportunities. Rising approximately 15 feet, the view from the stand is something to behold. The area has been managed with wildlife habitat and natural feeding patterns in mind. The length of the hunting seasons gives this area a reputation for successful hunting in archery, muzzle loader and rifle/shotgun. The trophy bucks that have been taken in this area rival those anywhere. In addition to superb deer hunting, we offer upland bird (quail, chukar, and pheasant) hunting, all in an environment which includes natural and created cover and food plots.

The club is a still hunt only club with about 30 established stands (box and ladder stands). The land is divided into 3 tracts about 2 miles apart. The cabin sits on about 500 acres then 2 400 acre tracts are just right down the road.

The facilities are very nice with plenty of amenities. There are 2 cabins. One cabin is a 4 bedroom 2 bath with large living room area. The other cabin is 1 bed 1 bath with kitchen and dining room. Both are heated and cooled. We have a large covered area for parking atvs. The farmer lives on the property and watches over things. We also have a nice skinning shed with sink and walk in cooler that has held up to 8 deer.

The club is a family oriented club that doesn't have many rules. The club is considerate of one another and enjoy having a good time while we are hunting. The club manages our deer within reason. The club is not extreme about it. There is a healthy population of deer on the property as well as turkey.
